When you are tired of visiting the many interesting and varied visitor attractions or festival events in Edinburgh, the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links offer plenty of opportunity to relax or play with friends and the family - from frisbee to football, tennis at the Edinburgh Leisure courts where you can hire everything you need, children's swings and multi-activity compounds, or golf on the short 36 hole links, where you can play for free (you need to bring your own clubs).

Play golf on Bruntsfield Links, the original 36 hole short course. Playing on the meadows, with a view to Arthur's Seat

Further afield, it is so easy to access the city bypass and less than half an hour's drive to the Pentland Hills and fabulous beaches.

Walk in the Pentland Hills, south of Edinburgh Gullane Beach, where you can walk to Aberlady in one direction or all the way to North Berwick in the other
